    Atlético de Madrid has announced the incorporation of Apollo Sports Capital, the global sports investment platform of Apollo Global Management (NYSE: APO), as a new majority shareholder of the Club, as part of a long-term alliance aimed at boosting its growth under the leadership of its CEO, Miguel Ángel Gil, and its President, Enrique Cerezo.

    ECIJA has acted as legal advisor to Miguel Ángel Gil and Enrique Cerezo, participating in all legal aspects of the transaction (due diligence process, structuring of the transaction and negotiation of contracts).

    The firm's Corporate /M&A team was led by Pablo Jiménez de Parga (partner and vice-president of ECIJA), with the support of Magdalena Bertram (Corporate /M&A partner), as well as Alfonso Juliani (counsel) and Álvaro Gallego (senior associate).

    Together with ECIJA, legal advisor to Miguel Ángel Gil and Enrique Cerezo, A&O Shearman as legal advisor to Apollo Sports Capital, Proskauer and Pérez-Llorca from Ares Management, and Uría Menéndez from Quantum Pacific have participated in the transaction.
